The Independent: Catalonia: Spanish judge jails two independence leaders for possible sedition

A Spanish judge has ruled that the leaders of the two biggest grassroots pro-independence associations in Catalonia should remain in prison without bail on possible charges of sedition - for which, if convicted, they could face prison sentences of up to 10 years.

An ongoing legal investigation claims Jordi Sanchez and Jordi Cuixart, the leader of the ANC movement, and Mr Cuixart, who heads the Omnium Cultural association, were heavily involved in organising a massive protest aimed at hindering a Guardia Civil investigation in Barcelona into the build-up for the 1 October illegal referendum.

The "west" no longer believes in democracy. It hasn't for a very long time. In times past, it was possible to blithely ignore this reality. We no longer can.

Exhibit A: the US and the "west" supported a coup against the democratically elected government of Ukraine. The US may have even been an active participant in this.

Exhibit B: the powers that be in the US are engaged in a de facto coup against a duly elected president.

Exhibit C: the Democrat party actively pushed for Clinton against Sanders even rigging the primaries against him. Had they not done so Mr. Sanders gets the nomination and would have, in all likelihood, be POTUS today. Admittedly this cannot be proven. Bottom line: the democratic will of the people was thwarted.

Exhibit D: the situation in Spain.

In each of these examples, the US and the "west" have actively pushed for regime change against governments who engage in such behavior. Will they now push for regime change against themselves? Will they organize coups against themselves? Will they now invade themselves? will they implement sanctions against themselves? I think not. The hypocrites will do no such thing.

The farce of the "west" believing in democracy has been exposed. For this of which Russia perhaps played a small role in doing as well as its rejection of communism Russia cannot be forgiven by these people.

Frankly, Russia is unconcerned about the American system of government or who its leaders are as they are focused on doing big things and not on petty fights within America. Unfortunately American leadership collectively suffers from narcissistic personality disorder. Such people have an over inflated view of themselves. They need to seek counseling, leave the rest of us along, and GET OVER THEMSELVES!!
