It's always amazed me that a country like Iran would have a care in the world about Israel, a country that has historically beat the crap out of shared enemies and not a borderline shared.

If you want to understand why, you just need to know what the Qur'an teaches about enemies, specifically the Jews, and the nature of the Islamic revolution.

Anon,

I've had pretty much the same thought. For some reason, Israel and to a lesser extent America but to a significant extent nonetheless seem to do this to people.

"Beat the crap out of shared enemies and not a shared border." Pretty much spot on. If Iran had sane leadership, they'd be allied with Israel.

In the case of America, all Iran had to do was accept America's admission of guilt even though America might not actually be guilty as American motivation to end the conflict is so powerful that American leaders would pretty much agree to ANYTHING the Iranians might want in the desperate hope of ending the conflict and take American money and in return dropping "death to America" as national policy.

They couldn't even get this right. Israel and America should be their allies. Perhaps BHO thought about all of this when entering into the nuclear agreement with Iran. What he failed to account for is Iranian leadership is irrational.
