WNU Editor: What we know so far is the following .... Mr Nemtsov had had been out for dinner with his Ukranian model girlfriend Anna Duritskaya in the GUM Department store (Bosco Restaurant .... which by the way is a fantastic restaurant) across from Red Square. They were walking home when he was shot in front of her on Friday night ... apparently the gunman was waiting for him at the bridge, and after shooting him made his escape in an organized getaway car. The getaway car has been found, but the police are providing no additional information. The focus is now on his girlfriend .... Does this young model hold the key to the killers at the Kremlin? Ukrainian was with Russian opposition leader when he was gunned down in 'politically-motivated murder' (Daily Mail) .... but aside from her family and friends who are talking about her .... no other information has been released. He also apparently did have an interesting love life .... Slain Russian’s Complicated Romantic Life May Be Key to the Case (Observer).
My worry is that because Russia does not have a good history when it comes to solving crimes like this .... this crime will also not be solved. If that becomes the case .... it is going to taint the entire Russian political system for years .... and it will undermine and/or put into doubt Russian President Putin's authority and credibility.

Isn't there a set of stairs leading down to a lower street right there? Well there seems now to be the woman, the shooter, the getaway driver, and a spotter at a minimum. How far is the nearest international airport from here?
Everything seemed to be coordinated with that (Sweeper?) truck passing by. Everything happens as that truck obscures the Ukrainian and the Russian opposition leader, and that is when he gets shot.
It seems more likely the gunman had probably hitched a ride on this sweeper truck (without the drivers knowledge) from the back and made his move, then ran off.
Everything about the hit says it was organized, professional, and clean...

I think your right about the truck. It shields the shooting from cameras and passing cars, and being a sweeper (some have called it a snowplow), it can move slowly without arousing suspicion. I counted the street lights on the bridge from right to left, then went to google earth street view and there is a set of stairs coming up from the street below right there. A perfect place for the shooter to wait just out of sight of people and cameras from the Kremlin side.
Aye seems very likely that the gunman had used those stairs, and that they had advanced knowledge of the time/day that he would walk across that bridge.
It seems a strange coincidence that the sweeper/snowplow truck happens to pass just at that exact moment when he gets shot.
Either its a remarkable coincidence that happens to benefit the gunman, or... Someone should interrogate that driver rather throughly.
What is also strange is that, given the serious nature of his position and the information he was poised to reveal, he put himself out in the open for attack. It also seems that those who planned his death knew in advance the route he would take and on foot.
