Japan Intercepted Record Number of Chinese and Russian Military Aircraft -- USNI

Japan intercepted a record number of Russian and Chinese aircraft close to its territorial waters over the past six months.

The country’s military flew 533 intercepts during the first half of fiscal year 2014, according to a Jane’s Defence Weekly report. Compared to that same period in 2013, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF), as the Japanese air force is known, flew 308 sorties.

The increasing number of intercepts is part of a growing trend. The JASDF has flown an increasing number of air intercepts since 2011. In fiscal year 2011, there were 425 intercepts, 567 in 2012 and 810 in 2013. If the trend continues, the number of intercepts could rise to Cold War-era levels.

My Comment: Russia is testing Japan's new air defenses, and China is now feeling confident to stake it's territorial claims over Japanese objections.

This is not good, lets hope they avoid war . Do you think that in the near future China and Japan will have a war? Would be nice to know also how is Japans relation to China? And I found some very bad news, the PM of DPR Zhakarshenko has "terminated" the ceasfire because of the rocket that hit a chmical factory in Donetsk today. What effect will this have? Will there be a resuming of war again? Please blog about it, would be nice too know if you have any extra details.

Continual brinksmanship is tiring and dangerous.

It is the stuff science fiction that explains how the apocalypse came about and created the current novel setting.

And those sci-fi are not making stuff up out of whole cloth.

I hope oil prices go below $80 and stay there for a year.

it is the only way to keep Putin form flexing his muscle. If that is all he is doing. because we know Obama will not do anything.

Anything constructive anyway.

Russia after decades of neglect, finally has the budget to go back to running Combat, training and ELINT patrols,

China, has finally created a modern airforce, and is running these patrols.

The U.S., which has been running these, and even more agressive air activities since the end of WWII, however, is not reported as being "agressive" or "a danger", which speaks very much to the Propaganda.

US drones get regularly shot down over for example, Iran, and yet, Iran get's " blamed".

When the Marxists said they are going to take over the world. That was not hyperbole or wishful thinking.they tried and in some measure succeeded. They took over a string of countries.

When you say you are going to make the world Red, people get into your business.

Ditto Islam. the world is made of two parts the Dar al Islam and Dar al Harb, the House of Peace and the House of War.

When people are Muslim and you have generally got along with them it is one thing. When they have a theocracy and start talking bellicose it is quite another.
